Dear CHS 61 'er,

If you have not heard, the upcoming football season will be the 100th year of football for the Blue and Gold Panthers.  (Remember that we were there for the Golden 11-th 50th year.)  The school is planning a big to-do to celebrate.  The festivities will start the Friday fo the first game and last right through the Thanksgiving homecoming.

Below is the notice that I received.  I plan to take in some of the festivities and hope that you can also.  Of course, if you get back to the Colls area, give me a holler.

The 100th Anniversary of Collingswood High School Football!

Honoring all who have contributed to the proud legacy that is Collingswood Football

All are invited!

Please join us as we begin our season-long celebration. It begins with a parade and bonfire on Friday night, October 3rd and lasts through the season until our Homecoming Thanksgiving game versus Sterling on November 27th.

Enclosed please find information relative to the 100th anniversary celebration. The most important part is you! We want you to join us in what plans to be an exciting season for Collingswood football. We plan the following:

·        A pre-game parade, bonfire and reception on Friday night, October 3rd

·        Our first home game will feature the introduction of all former players, band members, color guard and cheerleaders. Following the game join us behind the stadium for a post game party

·        Our team will wear 'throwback' jerseys recognizing the greats of CHS football

·        A commemorative program

·        Anniversary hats, coins and shirts

·        The Thanksgiving breakfast followed by our traditional football game

·        Our Thanksgiving Homecoming with former Homecoming Queens being honored

Throughout the season, at our home games, we will be recognizing our former players, cheerleaders, majorettes, color guard and band members. On Thanksgiving we will add our former Homecoming Queens.

The important thing, and we need your help with this - are you planning to attend? Who can you contact and tell them about this exciting series of events? Please help us contact people from your class who were involved in Collingswood football activities. We are trying to reach everyone. Please help!

To help finance our celebration we will be conducting a Blue Raffle and a Gold Raffle. All proceeds from the raffle go directly to the loath anniversary fund. Tickets will be available at the March 8th Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner held at the Crowne Pointe Hotel.

Our commemorative program will read like a media guide. We would like to feature all of our great teams and the individuals who made Collingswood the leader in South Jersey football. Please see the information about the program on the following pages.
