50th Reunion Follow Up!

Well, a week has passed since the reunion. It was great seeing all of you. Was it a good time-or was it a good time?! From Friday night at the TapRoom to Sunday morning at the Aglialoro's-was fun from beginning to end. (Have you ever seen anyone dancing with a walker before? Know what I mean John McHenry?) Happily, I can report that I heard not one disparaging word (has the door just been opened?). I certainly hope that you had as much fun as did I. Let the class know whether or not you enjoyed it.

By now, hopefully, you have had enough time to look at your photographs, culled out the out of focus, etc. one's and are ready to e-mail the rest to us. We will review them, try to put appropriate captions on them and post them to the website and, possibly, the Facebook page.

For those of you who couldn't attend but have requested yearbooks, we are still “playing catch up" here in the office. We expect to start sending them in the next few days.

Future reunions: I had so much fun that I have changed my mind about bowing out as chair of the reunion committee. As it looks, for the 55th we can do a Friday afternoon or Saturday afternoon get-together. Gather at a location for a noon lunch followed by the balance of the afternoon with reminiscences, camaraderie and fellowship. Everyone who needs to be could be home by dark and it would probably cost less money. With the changing of technology, we will probably be able to have a life book update that can be downloaded to one's cell phone or the like. Of course, we are always open to listen to ideas.

One final thing: whenever you change an e-mail address, street address, phone number, etc. LET US KNOW. You have our numbers and e-mail address. One of the most time-consuming parts of preparing for the reunion is chasing down classmates. Also, if you know somebody else is changing their information, LET US KNOW.

Okay, you now have your marching orders: photographs e-mailed to us, suggestions for the 55th and keeping us updated.

Have a great summer, take care of yourselves and have some fun.

For the committee:

Ken Landis

Collingswood High’61 Classmates:

It's reunion time! Summer is over and it's time to start planning for the big one – 50th year high school class reunion. Our “golden anniversary”!

The reunion will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday May 20, 21 and 22, 2011. There will be an informal get-together on Friday night, activities during the day Saturday with the grand soirée that evening and a brunch on Sunday. The past reunions have been a blast and we’re expecting the 50th year reunion to be even more so. Mark your calendars now.

HELP! The committee needs help. We need help finding classmates, organizing activities, handling logistics, etc., etc. Can you help? Bruce Greenberg has, once again, agreed to oversee the production of a yearbook. In the next couple of weeks, you will be receiving from Bruce a questionnaire about activities and plans for the future.  But, Bruce needs help finding our classmates. We need sleuths. In this day of Without a Trace, NCIS, CSI, etc., investigators are needed. And, our "inspector general" Bruce will pass on the trade secrets to anyone interested.

In the meantime, please pass this e-mail/letter on to any classmate with whom you are in contact. Please have her/him send their e-mail/snail mail address to me. We would like to get as many classmates in the know about the reunion as possible.

Please e-mail how you want to help.

BLUE AND GOLD FOREVER.
